    I wish my pyschogist, have to told me up front that my husband was a narcissistic and would not changed. I went to her for 11 years. I lived him for 40years and six months after I married him, I told God I think I made a mistake marry my husband. His true self came out, no charming prince his whole personality changed.

    Maybe I misunderstood the context, but my bible says, to stay with the dirtbag, be his helper and hope that they will be won to Christ, by a quiet and gentle spirit. I failed at this, I left per the advice of a pastor, and there are days that I feel guilty, though I know Ive been forgiven for leaving, and falling into something even worse. Jesus transforms us, hallelujah!

    I was in an abusive marriage, he was an atheist and narcissistic. The Lord used 2 people that allowed me to read ”But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.“ ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Because a lot of churches teach that the grounds for divorce is adultery only. However abusive marriages don’t represent Christ loving the church.

    I'm glad she made it out of that marriage. I just hate the time she lost waiting for these religious mentors and elders to intervene and help. Being from a religious background as well, I've learned later people in the church are equally human (i.e., are clueless at best or seek control/coverup at worst). But that took years for me to see myself.

    • @ebest1338
      @ebest1338 18 днів тому

      Agreed. It's really sad and must have been pretty hard going on for so long in that environment while waiting for the church people to be honest enough to do what was best for her. So much lost time. Unfortunately, not many people believe that there is such a thing as trauma...betrayal trauma, abuse trauma...because they don’t see physical evidence. Oftentimes it has to get to that for people to act...sometimes it's too late.

  • @maryp4579

    Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad you pointed out that marriage counseling doesn't work when there is abuse - also that the victim really can't share what is happening in the marriage with the abuser right there, especially when they are going home together afterward. I lived this. The therapist couldn't see how traumatized I was, and I didn't feel safe to share it. And my husband was very adept at guiding the therapy sessions so that it was almost like I was the sole person of us to be worked on. Anyway, I'm glad you are shedding light on this topic.

    You do know that Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-20 only devout Jews get into heaven, and Jews don't celebrate Easter.

    • @awesomemarriage
      @awesomemarriage Місяць тому

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. While Matthew 5:17-20 refutes the abolishment and disregard of Jewish law, it's also important to consider the broader context of Jesus' teachings throughout the New Testament. In John 14:6, Jesus states, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This suggests that salvation is not exclusively limited to devout Jews, but is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ. Regarding Easter, it's true that Easter is not traditionally celebrated within Judaism. However, Easter holds significant spiritual meaning for Christians worldwide as it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is central to the Christian faith. It's understandable that interpretations of religious texts may vary, and I appreciate the opportunity to engage in respectful dialogue on this topic. Ultimately, our beliefs shape our understanding of faith, and it's through mutual respect and understanding that we can continue to learn from one another.

      @@awesomemarriage I'm guessing you are an armchair Christian. In that, you have listened to people speak about the Bible and what certain passages mean but have never studied it. There are 613 Laws in the Bible, perhaps you should read them to see how many you break on a daily basis. And when Jesus says the only way to the farther is through him, he means by following his teachings I bet you are one of those who just throw out soundbites that you've heard without understanding their meaning. So you'll understand why I would ask you to answer the following question to see how much you know about your own religion. Name the wives of Adam?

    Right! You don't need to find him, you dont need to seek him around you....... He is in you, all you need to do is listen to the quiet and fill it with grateful words for him. I am passed the point of "Do you believe in God", its a ridiculous question, just look in the mirror at what he created, look out your window at the animals and the grass, that is your evidence, we are just human beings and have become too self important to see the little things. We dont have a clue who or what we are...... Apart from his creation and thats all that matters to me.
